INGLEWOOD AFC - OUT & ABOUT IN OUR COMMUNITY
INTRODUCTION TO SOCCER SESSION
On Friday 23rd September, 2 x Inglewood AFC senior players (Dennis Wade, Wayne Gower) held a coaching clinic for the 3 & 4 year olds that attend the Inglewood Community Childcare Centre.

Emphasis was on FUN, but the goal was to introduce the kids to the basic concepts of soccer (dribbling, kicking, running, scoring goals!), enhance their coordination and at the same time help them improve their social & communicative skills. The session lasted for around 30mins with a certificate presentation to all kids at the conclusion of the event.

Inglewood AFC
"the family club"

Inglewood Associated Football Club was originally established back in 1904 but formally registered in 1945. It is a club that has stood the test of time and is one of the strongest clubs in Taranaki.
The club is situated at Karo Park in Inglewood Taranaki with purpose built clubrooms available. Downstairs, the Changing Rooms have provisions for four teams.  Karo Park has three full-sized pitches for senior teams and two 3/4-sized pitches for junior teams. The Club boasts lights on all pitches to enable practice and games at night. Outside is a viewing deck which boasts panoramic views across the whole park and perfect for the watching of games being played on the Premier pitch.

The Club Rooms have windows overlooking Karo Park enabling excellent viewing of games being played across the park, in particular the Premier pitch (Field 1) which directly sits in front of the clubrooms. There is ample seating, a fully stocked bar facility and a well-appointed kitchen. Separate female and male toilets are provided. A big-screen television and stereo system completes the package. The Club Rooms allow for some of Taranaki’s best hospitality to visiting teams, home players, supporters, and members no matter what age they are.

There is also plenty of off -street car parking available with enough room for cars and buses.

Inglewood AFC fields 3 men's senior teams (a Premier team, a reserve Premier team and a senior 2nd Division team), along with 9 Youth and Junior teams. Competing in the local Taranaki leagues for honours, Inglewood AFC are also an integral part of the Team Taranaki affiliation, which allows the Clubs players access to play in the highest local level available in the Western Federation. Inglewood AFC play in the national Chatham Cup competition across the central region, and the Taranaki based Duff Rose Bowl and Nimmo Cup knockout competitions. Our club also plays in Central Football's Federation Cup.

Due to the facilities on offer at Inglewood and the locality within Taranaki, Team Taranaki base their training at Inglewood AFCs Karo Park. The club has also established a Junior soccer academy called 'Grasshoppers' to teach & train local 4-6yr olds in our community: the emphasis is about getting out and having FUN!

New players are very welcome at our family friendly club.
